Friends?

So, last night I posted about my ex....its all too funny that he actually contacted me today! He wants to be friends!! Um, hello....why???
Can someone please answer that for me and explain WHY someone would want to be friends with an ex that there didn't even seem to be any sort of lasting bond with? We weren't friends prior to dating, so why would we be friends after dating? I don't understand this concept of trying to be friends wth an ex....it leads to more heartache and just isn't healthy. I feel like ats an easy way to hang on to an idea of love rather than being in love. Its a lazy mans way through heartbreak... Right? Is being friends with an ex possible?
Thoughts, feedback, opinions?

  1. I can't do anything but giggle a little and shake my head. No no no, just no.
Are their times it can work, yes. But it depends on the relationship before and how things ended. In your case, no no no....no.

Sorry, #notsorry

I just finished reading an entry on one of my favorite reader published online blogs on elephant.com (Article and link at the bottom of page), and couldn't help but to think to myself that me reading it was of no certain coincidence...You see, I, as I'm sure many others out there, can TOTALLY relate to Kate Rose's words that seem to have been written from a place far more guttural and primal than I'm willing to write and speak from in relation to my most recent relationship. I'm really not even sure if it's completely the same thing at all, but what I do know is that I was in a very unhealthy relationship that lasted exponentially longer than it should have... I think as women, we tend to ignore red flags and think to ourselves "oh, if only I hadn't have reacted in this particular way," or "well, if I had just given him a moment longer when he walked in the door instead of jumping to say hello right away..." That last one sounds pretty r...

Old age

So yesterday my best friend and I had lunch together and the conversation always varies drastically from one silly subject to the next...I suppose that's what happens when you've been friend for over 10 years. Amid phrases like "I drink jalapeƱos for breakfast," and "oh my gosh, that puppy is so cute!" Or, "don't look, her leggings are sheer!! Eek!" We stumbled upon a rather serious topic...see, we are both over 30, and while that's still relatively young, we arent quite green behind the ears anymore. I just turned 30 a little over a month ago, and she is 32 and newly married...so yes, by all stretches of reality, we are very young still, and that's great!! However...have you ever heard someone tell you that the crazy things you did when you were younger would some day catch up with you?? Well, 30 seems to be the golden ticket ladies and gentlemen!! We have both led very active lifestyles and both have very physically demanding caree...

Hey, Stranger!

Oh, Hello again! It's been a lonnnnggggg time y'all!!! Since I last published on my blog almost 5 years ago I've done A LOT of different things.  For those that know me, I've been a dancer basically my whole life. I've been teaching ballroom dance since early 2008, and traveled the country doing some pretty amazing things in my dance career. Most reccently and notably, I've developed a program based in physical therapy and catering to the senior adult community on how ballroom dancing affects and benefits the systems of balance as we age. It's really interesting and it's become a love-child of mine...more on that in awhile, maybe a separate blog post, TBH... Most recently, and notably, it's 2020. June, to be specific. Have y'all been present for 2020? It's been a TRIP. We've been dealing with the coronavirus, internationally, since late last year, we have seen a HUGE movement within the black community and #blacklivesmatter (I'll do a...
